No Qantas bookings for SA until Q4 2021

Qantas has announced that no bookings on the South Africa, UK and US routes can be made until late October 2021.

In a recent statement about changes to its Northern summer booking schedule, the Australian carrier said: “Qantas has temporarily stopped selling some international routes until the end of October 2021, due to market uncertainty and ongoing government restrictions. However, flights have not been cancelled and existing bookings remain active (referring to repatriation flights).

The airline added that flights to a number of Pacific and Asian destinations remained in discussion as potential COVID-safe ‘travel bubbles’ that might open up in the coming months, including New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Fiji and New Caledonia.

Qantas is encouraging passengers who are looking to change their bookings, to convert them to travel credits, which can be used on Qantas flights through to the end of 2021.
